On Digg
7 March 2006, 2348ZWhen I was a teenager, I frequented shows at a local all-ages club. I remember one show in particular, played by a ska band whose name I don't remember, that I saw when I was fifteen. As usual, most of the people at the show were teenagers, and for some reason, we were moshing. At the time it seemed like the right thing to do. In retrospect, it is clearly ridiculous.
Not all of the attendees were kids. There were two guys who seemed quite old at the time, but were probably in their late twenties or early thirties. They were desperately trying to enjoy themselves, but every few seconds, a screaming child would plant an elbow in the first guy's stomach or the second guy's crotch, eliciting looks of bewilderment that can only be described as "what the fuck."
I am now one of those guys, and Digg is the moshpit.
