Greetings From Ireland
13 August 2004, 0000ZThanks to free wireless access in Shannon Airport, I've posted a set of 49 photos from my trip to western Ireland. I took many, many more but the ones here are the best. This is my first time overseas but I really do think Ireland is the most beautiful place on Earth. (Kris, I can already hear you protesting in defense of Norway!)
Note that the photos may take quite some time to download because there are so many of them. You can flip through the photos while they are downloading.
I stayed with my parents and four of their friends in a rental house in Claddaghduff, which is very close to Clifden. The house is right by the ocean and shares a beach with a few neighbors. We did a bit of hiking on nearby Omey Island, as well as in Connemara National Park and on the island of Inishbofin. We managed to squeeze in some horseback riding and side trips to Roundstone and Galway. We also met a wonderful couple from Dublin, Paul and Susan, and their daughter Sophie. It was a great vacation and I'm sure I'll be back some day.
